Quick chilling to avoid the creation of DMS (<span class=\"SpellE\">dimethylsulfide<\/span>)<br \/>\n2. Control to dial in the right pitching temp<br \/>\n3. Clear the wort to ensure\u00a0to have a clean end product<br \/>\n4. Minimize or eliminate any potential contamination<\/p>\n<p>A plate chiller really only does one of the above, chill the wort quickly.<\/p>\n<h3>Stainless Steel Immersion Chillers<\/h3>\n<p>Advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why Stainless Steel, the gold standard of brewing equipment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent corrosion resistance<\/li>\n<li>Easy to keep clean<\/li>\n<li>Very rigid and will last a lifetime with proper care, Copper is not as rigid as Stainless Steel<\/li>\n<li>No oxide to contend with every time you use it<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0A copper chiller goes in dull and comes out shinier this is not good, when\u00a0 its dull it has contaminates on it and those contaminates have \u00a0gone some where (ie in your brew)<\/li>\n<li>Copper is better at thermal transfer, but\u00a0stainless is also pretty good<\/li>\n<li>Copper can develop a green-blue toxic oxide called Verdigris (i.e. the natural patina on the Statue of Liberty). \u00a0Verdigris is water soluble and can contaminate your brew if left on your chiller before immersing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why\u00a0we supply a stainless steel, Immersion Wort Chiller with the Keg River Brewer When\u00a0preparing the\u00a0beer\u00a0for the yeast there are several things\u00a0needed, to ensure a good wort for the yeast: 1.
